Are you a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with a background in Financial Management and looking for a new role? This is your opportunity to work as a Director of Finance for a Non-Profit Organisation who works closely with the Government.
The role: –
As Director of Finance and part of the Senior Management Team, you could be reporting to the Executive Director and overseeing all financial personnel within the company. As Senior Manager of the Financial department, you will be inspiring your team to achieve the highest level of performance as well as ensuring that all the staff are trained/mentored, understand their duties & direction and assist in the hiring and on-boarding for new employees.
You will have the primary responsibility for the planning, implementation, management and control of all financial related activities including forecasting, strategic planning, financial negotiations, job costing, investments, compliance and financial risk management.
Working will the Government on all levels will be nothing new for you and it is highly desired that you have experience of working with First Nation/Indigenous organisations and employees.
As Director of Finance it will be your responsibility to provide financial guidance and advice to the Executive Director, Financial Committee, Senior Management team and Managers. This will entail producing detailed reports, creating tenders, recommendations and financial analysis.
Your Skills & experience: –
It goes without saying that you will have extensive experience of the usual financial duties such as Accounting, Payroll, Auditing, Budgeting and Financial Planning & Analysis. What will set you apart from the other candidates is your knowledge and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Proven experience in a Senior Financial Management position including the supervision of staff for 5+ years in a medium to large size company.
Other areas of experience will include setting approved budgets and ensuring all departments adhere these for the fiscal year, liaising with Auditors and providing input for audits and implementing recommendations into the organization’s operations.
As a person you are detail orientated with exceptional interpersonal skills both written and verbal and pride yourself on your integrity and dependability. Knowledge of accounting software (especially Quickbooks) is needed and further experience of web-based Time sheets are highly beneficial. A solid understand and working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office is also required.
Being a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or achieving this imminently is a must for this role!, you will also be require a clean criminal record as this will be checked as part of the interview process.

The package: –
With the standard working week of 40 hours Monday to Friday and an annual salary of $90,000 per annum this is an incredible opportunity to use your knowledge and skills where you can really make a difference. There might be the requirement to work outside of the usual hours when necessary, but not on a regular basis.
