Overview

The company –

The company has been established to receive, administer, distribute, and report on gaming revenues flowing from the Province to eligible First Nations in British Columbia.

 

The role –

As the Communications & Community Outreach Coordinator you could be the primary point of contact for British Columbia’s 198 eligible First Nations and would facilitate the completion of sign up documentation and annual audit compliance reports.

In addition, as Communications and Community Outreach Coordinator you would be promoting the understanding of the partnership on an ongoing basis and supporting eligible First Nations to engage in the partnership.

Promoting success story profiles for inclusion in annual reports and other communications directed at the limited partners and will work collaboratively with eligible First Nations leadership and staff to facilitate timely information exchange and mutually beneficial outcomes.

Skills and experience –

For this exciting new position, you will be able to bring your passion and commitment along with your background in Community relations and developing and implementing Communications strategies.

Your previous knowledge of developing communications plans and their application to support business objectives and partner engagement as well as organize & coordinate community, regional or annual meetings with limited partners and related travel arrangements.

Other areas of responsibility will include gathering, reviewing, amending (if required), transmitting, filing and summarizing confidential gaming revenue sharing sign up, audit compliance and provide individual and/or group information sessions to eligible First Nations regarding gaming revenue sharing requirements and funding policies.

It goes without saying that for this position of knowledge and experience of First Nation Communities and organizations is required for this position and it is highly desirable to have a degree in Communications, Business Administration or relevant field with a few years experience in a similar position.

The package –

This position is a full-time permanent role, with the core working hours of 40 per week but there maybe the odd occasion to work outside of the standard office hours. With an annual salary of just over $50,000 per year, this is an exciting opportunity to join this outstanding organisation.
